Last night I had the pleasure of being invited to an open house for wedding and event planners at Philadelphia's lovely Water Works Restaurant.  I have visited Water Works a number of times with clients, but haven't yet had the good fortune to have an event there (maybe 2013 is the year my luck changes?) If you're not familiar with Water Works, you've clearly never driven 76 East or Kelly Drive.  Water Works is a landmark venue, nestled in between Center City and Boathouse Row, in...

I am so excited to exhibit my wedding planning services at tomorrow's LGBT "Same Love, Same Rights" Wedding Expo.  Since 2003 this organization has been hosting same-sex centered expos all over the country and the Philadelphia area gets one of their own tomorrow at the Homewood Suites by Hilton (110 Pheasant Run, Newtown, PA).  I can't wait to meet the boundary breaking couples who aren't waiting for the government to get it's act together and instead pledging vows of commitment between each other and whatever higher authority they believe in. If...

This past Sunday was the Lovesick Wedding Expo.  Tom and Jon from Hi-Society Entertainment promised a fun, bridal show extravaganza like no other, and boy, did they deliver!  Venue host, World Cafe Live, was full to the brim with alternative vendors, young upstart companies, unique ideas, beautiful displays, and - best of all - the raffle produced over $800 for the local non-profit Children Can Shape the Future. The theme for my little 4-foot space was "Recycled Music Thrift" - playing off the rock and roll location and the day's ecofriendly...

This weekend I will be shaking hands and handing out swag at the Lovesick Wedding Expo at World Cafe Live. This alternative wedding Expo promises to be "for the cool at heart" and feature wedding vendors who are nontraditional, handmade, ecofriendly, gay friendly, and just plain friendly. I am thrilled to be a part of this event and can't wait to meet all the recently engaged Philadelphia brides and grooms. I know it's a super exciting time and I'd love to take some of the burden off their shoulders....

I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner - all my Philadelphia brides will have to wait until the next time around (April, I think) to visit this awesome event. This weekend I volunteered at Brides Against Breast Cancer, a gown sale and charity event for Making Memories.  The sale of donated gowns goes towards granting wishes for breast cancer patients (sustainable AND charitable), and you can't help feel good about making that happen.  The gowns range from simple sheath dresses to full out ball gowns and you can find anything from...

Planning a wedding is an extremely personal affair - the wedding should always be representative of the engaged couple. Which is why it's so awesome that Kim Pacini and the ladies of Unbridaled have created an alternative wedding brand that focuses on sustainable, hand crafted, and local bridal goods for the sustainable, hand crafted, locally-minded couples! If you get a chance, please join them on April 25th for the Unbridaled Style Expo and Sample Wedding Gown Sale at The Wardrobe Boutique (1822 Spring Garden St, 2nd Floor, Philadelphia). Event Includes: 10-12 vendors...
