This past Sunday was the Lovesick Wedding Expo.  Tom and Jon from Hi-Society Entertainment promised a fun, bridal show extravaganza like no other, and boy, did they deliver!  Venue host, World Cafe Live, was full to the brim with alternative vendors, young upstart companies, unique ideas, beautiful displays, and - best of all - the raffle produced over $800 for the local non-profit Children Can Shape the Future. The theme for my little 4-foot space was "Recycled Music Thrift" - playing off the rock and roll location and the day's ecofriendly...

There have been more than a few flurries since Janice and Allen celebrated their commitment during a June heatwave, but there's no time like the present to post some photos and thanks. Thanks, of course, to Janice and Allen to inviting me to be their wedding planner.  It was a thrill watching Janice walk down the "aisle" (a hidden path along the pond) and seeing their first dance to Stevie Wonder's "For Once in My Life." My good friend and Philadelphia cake-baker-extraordinaire Amanda Gambier of Gambier Events and I struck a pretty "sweet" deal - for each...

Arguably the biggest, baddest, fanciest fete to take place in the 20th century, this royal wedding set the bar on just about every wedding of the 80's.  Think you're having trouble with your guest list?  This bride and groom had to move their wedding from Westminster Abbey to St. Paul's Cathedral because the Abbey wasn't big enough (which was big enough for all 8200 guests at Queen Elizabeth's coronation in 1953). Chances are that despite what your father may have told you when you were still in diapers, you are not...

Fill in the blanks. (Blank) is a many splendored thing, (Blank) lifts us up where we belong, All you need is (blank). If you are a fan of LOVE (or Moulin Rouge), then you knew the answer to the quiz.  As I am a fan of both of those things, I am also a fan of this cake topper from Blue Butterfly Design.  As an iconic Philadelphia image, you don't get much better than Robert Indiana's LOVE statue.  Are you planning a Philadelphia wedding - serving cheesesteak egg rolls as hors d'oeuvres and having...
