Get Lit: Wedding Lighting
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Lighting is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to add a ton of ambiance to a wedding. In many cases you’ll hire a company (I love working with Eventions Productions and Synergetic Sounds and Lighting) and they can give you the full treatment. Uplighting, pin-spotting, dance floor wash, moving lights, color-changing LEDs, the works. But I am also a fan of string lights, candles, votives, lanterns… anything to cast a warm, romantic glow on you and your guests.
Below are some pictures (God bless Instagram!) from an intimate, at home, backyard wedding I planned last year. They wanted minimal flowers, but they wanted the whole house and yard lit up like the 4th of July. I absolutely adored the outcome!
Design Tip: You may love the color green, but never use it to decorate your wedding. When you shine a green light on people, it makes them look sick and that’s not cute in wedding photos.
